Konrad J. Dias PT, DPT, CCS, received his B.S. in Exercise Physiology, M.S. in Physical Therapy, and clinical doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Dr. Dias is also a Board Certified Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Clinical Specialist. Dr. Dias is currently pursuing a PhD in physical therapy through NOVA Southeastern University.
Dr. Dias became engaged in teaching, early in his career. He was Adjunct Professor at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell and currently is Associate Professor in the School of Health Professions at Maryville University of St. Louis, Missouri, where he teaches graduate courses in the areas of cardiopulmonary physical therapy and pathology. Dr. Dias has presented nationally at the APTA Combined Sections Meeting and was involved in a variety of programs to disseminate physical therapy internationally. He had the privilege of presenting lectures at the Christian Medical College Vellore, India; Es Salud Health Care System in Lima, Peru and an invited speaker for a program co-sponsored by the national Chilean Physical Therapy Association and the Universidad Metropolitana de Ciencias de la Educacion in Santiago, Chile.
Dr. Dias has clinical experience working in the acute care setting at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Massachusetts, treating medical and surgical inpatients as well as ICU patients and currently works at an acute care facility in St. Louis, MO.
Dr. Dias has authored several chapters within the latest editions of the Acute Care Handbook for Physical Therapists and Essentials of Cardiopulmonary Physical Therapy as well as published articles and abstracts in the Journal of Cardiopulmonary Physical Therapy.
